Policy statement

My name is Devin Ruddick and I am running for a School Board member position for Minooka CCSD 201. I am one of four candidates recently endorsed by the Minooka Elementary Education Association. I am a husband, father, teacher, and school facilities manager with a passion for education and an understanding of the challenges that many schools face. If elected, I will use my training, experience, and enthusiasm to advocate for the students of Minooka 201 by working together with school administrators, teachers, parents, community members, and other school board members. As a parent, I wish for a safe, welcoming, and inspiring school environment where my daughters can grow, learn, and thrive. From my perspective as a teacher, I understand what it’s like to work every day to ensure that students have the best educational opportunities in a space that promotes the development of lifelong learning practices and healthy relationships. Through my responsibilities as a school facilities manager, I see the challenges administrators, teachers, and staff face on a daily basis, and understand that communication, collaboration, creativity, and above all compassion, are necessary to continually adapt and improve in all aspects of education.
